When Honda announced the fall unveiling of the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell sedan, it didn’t plan for this kind of hype. Last month, a big celebration was buzzing in Tallapoosa, Georgia. May 12, 2016 marked the 10 year anniversary of transmission production at Honda Precision Parts of Georgia, LLC (HPPG). The facility began manufacturing transmissions in 2006, when it employed 179 associates. Now, HPPG has over 500 associates, and can build 375,000 transmissions annually.
