It's not just your kid's car. Honda's latest two-door coupe version of the Civic has (even) better looks, (even) better performance and (even) better fuel economy, and for those of us who can remember how to shift one, a terrific manual transmission. AutoGuide recently took the Civic Coupe out for a ride. Click "play" on the video below to learn more.

The 2016 Civic's styling is reflected in the Coupe as well, but it looks much better in two-door form, particularly around the rear section. The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine makes 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. Driving fans will prefer the 1.5-liter turbocharged version, which produces 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is available in the base model of the Civic Coupe, while a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard in the rest of the lineup. AutoGuide says Honda has confirmed it will be bringing the manual option to all Coupe versions.

The CVT produces a great upside - improved fuel economy in what was already an efficient compact. With the turbo engine, the Coupe manages 31 mpg in the city and 41 mpg.
