Up until now, Honda's offerings in the crossover category have consisted of the midsize CR-V and full-size Pilot. Both have been extremely popular. It isn't every year Honda enters a new category, but sensing a need, or desire, among people with an active lifestyle who need a more affordable crossover choice, Honda has debuted the 2016 HR-V, which AutoGuide recently reviewed. Click "play" in the video clip below to watch the full report.
The HR-V comes with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. It's available with either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). AutoGuide recommends going with the CVT. Cargo space is generous; with the rear seats up, the HR-V has 24.3 cubic feet of cargo space, but with the rear seats folded that grows to a whopping 58.8 cubic feet, which is likely among the most you'll find in the small crossover space.
