As a child, many of you probably had the chance to enjoy the thrills offered by go karting. When you got your first rush of adrenaline driving the small car on a track, this could even be where your love of racing started. To get involved in allowing more children to experience this excitement, Honda recently announced it would be contributing a specially designed engine to the karts in its racing line.

The new technology is called the GHX50 Kid Karting engine, and offers drivers a more reliable and enjoyable performance. In addition, it features an engine mount, chain guard and HPD-spec clutch. With this kind of innovation, children will certainly grow up eager to one day drive a full-size new Honda vehicle.

Marc Sours, senior manager of HPD's Commercial Division explains, "One of the goals of the Honda Racing Line is to support (these) novice racers. Through our Kid Kart engine program, we hope to make it easier for these young racers and their families to discover the fun of our sport."1

Karts from the Honda Racing Line equipped with the GHX50 Kid Karting engine will get to enjoy more than 200 hours of fun driving. Here at Steve Hopkins Honda, we are proud to see the automaker offering ways for children to discover their passion for racing and get a feel for what motorsports are all about.
