If their $215-million investment in Earth Dreams Technology engines was any indication, our favorite automaker is certainly committed to making our industry a greener place to drive. And now that one of their latest models is officially the greenest car of the year, the pride just continues to grow here at Steve Hopkins Honda.
For those unfamiliar, the annual Green Car of the Year award is handed out by the editors at Green Car Journal to the model-year vehicle that best represents the environmental progress being made in our industry. Earlier this year, they named our very own 2014 Honda Accord one of their Top 5 Green Cars for 2014, as well as their Green Car Product of Excellence.
In fact, they found it so very excellent that they recently went and crowned it as their 2104 Green Car of the Year. As for how it earned such a coveted honor, we'll just let the voters do the explaining on this one.
"With its efficient internal combustion, hybrid and plug-in choices, the 2014 Honda Accord delivers exactly what consumers are looking for today," says Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal. "It all comes together this year for the Accord in ways that speak to significant performance built into a mainstream, volume model that's a joy to drive."1
So if you'd like to drive it yourself, the award-winning, eco-friendly 2014 Honda Accord awaits you at our dealership here in Fairfield, CA. Going green has never been more fun.
