As powerful tornados wreaked havoc on the Midwest last month, many of us felt helpless as we watched entire towns suffer from the destruction. Luckily with the disaster relief provided by the American Red Cross, assistance can be given to the families who were left homeless. This is of course all made possible by donations made to the Disaster Relief Fund like the one recently pledged by Honda. The Japanese automaker announced it would be making a generous donation of $100,000, and its generosity just doesn't stop there.
Honda is also donating portable generators and remains in close contact with the Red Cross so that it can help as other supply shortages arise. The President and Chief Executive Officer of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., and Chief Operating Officer of Honda's North American region, Tetsuo Iwamura, explains, "As we have responded to past natural disasters, supporting the Red Cross and other local relief agencies is an effective way to quickly help those affected by the storms."1
What's even more impressive, is that the automaker is lending additional support to its loyal customers that were directly affected. It's offering Honda loan payment extensions, waiving late charges, and providing other services that will remove the financial burden from individuals who are currently recovering.
