Honda is working on developing a new wireless telematics system that will help drivers stay connected to the internet while on the road. Honda understands how important it is to accesses the internet while driving and being safe at the same time. That's why they teamed up with Verizon Wireless to develop a system that will integrate 4G technology into in-car telematics systems in the near future.

And what use would this serve? As we said before, telematics systems are all about connectivity. Think of it as being able to use your Smartphone in your car, but without being distracted. Telematics systems allow for text-to-speech reading of SMS messages, music streaming , easy navigation and much more through independently-developed, 3rd party apps.

And as you may be able to guess from the countless number of wireless commercials touting 4G, the new networking platform is all about delivering such content at blazing-fast speeds. Currently, Verizon Wireless boasts the largest nationwide 4G network, available in over 200 markets and covering more than two-thirds of the U.S. population. In other words, they're literally the perfect partner for Honda to work with.

Everyone here at Steve Hopkins Honda , located at 2499 Auto Mall Pkwy Fairfield, CA 94533 , is thrilled to see where this new partnership takes both companies. That said, we invite you to stay tuned for more on this exciting initiative as well as other Honda news.
