A younger, more tech-savvy generation of luxury car buyers is entering the auto market. As there aren't currently a lot of options designed with their specific needs/preferences in mind, Honda has decided to step up to the plate. The proof: An all-new concept, which debuted at last recently at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
It's called the Acura ILX Concept. And it's quite evident Honda is not only working to attract young, luxury drivers, but to retain their loyalty in the long term.
Why does Steve Hopkins Honda say this? Well, for one the ILX Concept represents Acura's first-ever hybrid car. And, as we all know, a large population of young car buyers are more informed of, and concerned about, environmental issues.
There's also the Acura ILX Concept's clean, contemporary looks, which is sure to appeal to a demographic seemingly obsessed with minimalistic style. The only frills you'll find in the Acura ILX Concept are inside. And, from the perspective of young drivers, they're really better qualified as must-haves than extras. We're talking about in-car text-messaging functionality as well as a Pandora Internet Radio interface, of course!
For those drivers who maybe aren't quite ready to convert to a hybrid lifestyle, Honda is also offering the Acura ILX Concept in two different petrol-powered models. At the heart of the standard Acura ILX Concept, is a strong 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine. The high-performance Acura ILX Concept, on the other hand features a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
