Recently, Honda Motors announced that they are testing a line of EV vehicles in China. These tests will be conducted with the governments of Guangzhou and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd.

The vehicles to be used for this testing is the Honda Fit EV. The electric models will be equipped with electromotive technologies, such as coaxial motors, Honda amassed through development of the Honda FCX Clarity advanced fuel cell electric vehicle as well as the advanced lithium-ion battery. The charging time of Fit EV is under six hours with a 220V power supply and the range is more than 150km.

For the testing, the EVs will be taken through real-world urban environments to witness their practicality, as well as identify technological issues. These tests will also help the company set up where recharge points should be installed.

Here's how the demonstrations will go down:

1. EVs will be driven on local streets to reproduce a real-world usage environment to identify the vehicle's potential technological issues.1

2. Through the monitoring of daily driving by general users, range per charge and charging patterns (frequency and location) will be confirmed.2
